Eurofins, a prominent provider of testing services for food, environment, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and various research disciplines such as discovery pharmacology, forensics, advanced material sciences, and agroscience contract research, has successfully concluded the acquisition of Quasfar.
Now operating as Eurofins Quasfar, this laboratory marks Eurofins' inaugural establishment in Colombia. It stands as a leading testing facility for pharmaceuticals, veterinary products, and cosmetics, boasting over 26 years of experience and a workforce exceeding 100 employees. Situated in Bogotá, Colombia, the 1,680 m² laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge testing equipment, technology, information platforms, and systems. It holds certification in Good Laboratory Practices for pharmaceutical quality control laboratories, adhering to the guidelines of WHO Technical Report Series, No. 957, 2010 44th Report – Annex 1.
With a strong emphasis on scientific training and research and development (R&D), the Quasfar team is dedicated to creating analytical methodologies that meet customer and regulatory requirements. They are committed to maintaining exceptional quality management systems and adhering to good laboratory practices, bioavailability, and bioequivalence practices.
Eurofins initially established its presence in Brazil in 2001 through Eurofins Genescan, with an office in São Paulo/SP and the subsequent opening of a laboratory. Over the years, Eurofins has continued to expand in Brazil and Latin America, currently operating more than 10 laboratories across five LATAM countries. These facilities cover a range of testing services, including food, environmental, pharmaceutical, agroscience, and clinical diagnostics testing, along with specialized consultancy services and audits.
The acquisition of Quasfar further solidifies Eurofins' support to the pharmaceutical industry in Latin America, enhancing its capabilities in research and development and providing crucial support in the early stages of pharmaceutical product development, all executed with the highest quality standards and timely turnaround.
