LSPedia Secures Contract from U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for FDA DSCSA Compliance Solutions

LSPedia has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide cutting-edge solutions ensuring compliance with the FDA's Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). Enacted in 2013, the DSCSA mandates end-to-end traceability for pharmaceutical products, safeguarding against counterfeit or illegitimate products infiltrating the supply chain.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a provider of lifelong healthcare services to U.S. military Veterans, oversees over 1,200 care sites nationwide with a workforce of more than 435,000 employees. In 2023, the department facilitated over 116 million healthcare appointments for Veterans. Aligning with its initiative to modernize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, the VA's comprehensive DSCSA compliance implementation aims to enhance care quality, enable seamless transitions from active-duty care to VA facilities, and centralize clinicians' access to Veterans' medical histories.

In its search for a partner, the VA required DSCSA-compliant technology and procedures across all dispensing locations, capable of swiftly onboarding over 300 existing trading partners and incoming vendors for EPCIS 1.2 serialization. Following an extensive, nearly year-long RFP process, LSPedia's OneScan emerged as the winner, recognized for its exceptional DSCSA adherence, reliability, security, and user-friendly interface.

The VA's stringent requirements included SaaS and Federal security standards, data integration with unique VA inventory systems, central maintenance of GLNs for VA location shipments, and testing non-production data for EHR integration and development. LSPedia's purpose-built solution, coupled with its proven capabilities in product tracing, verification router service, EPCIS data exchange, and exceptions management, not only met but exceeded the VA's criteria for high-performance, secure, and seamless drug supply chain operations. Additionally, LSPedia's quality management system, certified under ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, underscored its commitment to organizational, product, and service quality in alignment with the VA's stringent security requirements.
