A large proportion of treatments in development contain high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs), which is leading to an increased demand for their production. The cytotoxicity of HPAPIs results in handling challenges and requires large investments in specialized equipment to ensure that technicians and operators are protected from exposure.
