Socma recognizes Ash Stevens for commitment to improving environmental, health, safety & security

Ash Stevens’ Riverview manufacturing facility is pleased to announce it has been recognized for exemplary efforts in improving its environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) operations by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), a trade association representing specialty chemical manufacturers.

Ash Stevens participates in SOCMA’s ChemStewards® program, which is a third party EHS&S verification program mandating a high standard of EHS&S compliance, best practices, and continuous improvement to ensure manufacturing facilities are safe and environmental compliant for all stakeholders.

Ash Stevens accepted a Bronze Performance Improvement Award at SOCMA’s 94th Annual Dinner on December 7 in New York City. This is the 7th consecutive year Ash Stevens has received an EHS&S Performance Improvement Award from SOCMA’s ChemStewards® program. Dr. Stephen A. Munk, President and CEO of Ash Stevens, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the awards dinner.

The Riverview manufacturing facility was recognized for its successful efforts and commitment to continuous improvement in Environmental, Health, Safety & Security at the site.

“We are extremely proud of the hard work our employees have done on our EHS&S program. This award reflects our commitment to constant improvement for our products, our workers and our neighbors in the community,” said Dr. Stephen A. Munk.

“In today’s business world it is incumbent upon companies to be good environmental stewards and create a culture at their facilities that will ensure the safety and security of not only their employees but the community in which they live,” said SOCMA President Lawrence D. Sloan. “We congratulate Ash Stevens’ Riverview facility and its employees on this achievement, and we encourage them to continue these efforts through the ChemStewards Performance Improvement Program.”
