Newly consolidated logistics office and warehouse facility opening forUS and Latin America Clients
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, July 31, 2014 -- Marken announced today the expansion of their Miami facilities to meet the clinical trial logistics growth in Central and Latin America. The newly expanded facility will continue to serve as a regional center for inbound biological samples, consolidation of shipments to and from the region, and will provide additional storage capacity.
In its newest location, Marken will combine its office and warehouse into a single facility, creating more offices for regional project management, customer service and global operations teams, and allowing greater operational efficiency. The new distribution center includes a large temperature controlled area to meet the growing demand of temperature controlled shipments in and out of Central and Latin America.
Ernest Batista, Vice President, Logistics, Latin America Region for Marken said this about the expansion, “The fact that we typically average almost 20,000 shipments per month from this office is a powerful testament to the confidence placed in us by our clients. With this expansion, Marken and our newest Miami location are now better equipped to grow with our clients. The expansion of our Miami facilities has been well coordinated with the opening of our new depots in Brazil, Chile and Peru. These investments also further demonstrate Marken’s commitment to the clinical trial supply chain and logistics needs in the region.”
The official inauguration of the new Miami center will take place on August 5th, just two days before the official opening of its San Paulo depot in Brazil. The company plans to host a technical workshop at the depot on August 7th, with over 40 pharma clients participating.
