AMPAC Fine Chemicals Promotes Two in Recent Expansion of Their Executive Team

position of Vice President of Operations and Engineering, and Frank Mueller has been promoted to the position of Director, Lean Enterprise and Operational Excellence. 

Both are current AFC employees. Joe Campbell joined AFC in 1980 in Chemical Research and Development and Frank Mueller came on board in 2007.

Mr. Campbell has served in roles of increasing responsibility over the past 36 years.  "Joe was one of the pioneers of Aerojet Fine Chemicals which is now AMPAC Fine Chemicals. His hard work and dedication, along with his leadership has resulted in development of a very strong Process Engineering group at AFC," stated Aslam Malik, CEO AMPAC Fine Chemicals. "He is a strong leader and has mentored many of our current and future leaders."

Joe received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and served most recently as the Executive Director of Process Engineering.  His work involved scaling-up new processes to commercial scale cGMP manufacturing, process intensification, modifying existing facilities to meet increased customer demands, and building new facilities.

Frank Mueller joined AFC in 2007 as a Production Supervisor focused on high potency manufacturing and most recently served as an Associate Director of Operations.  Now, as Director of Lean Enterprise and Operational Excellence, Frank is responsible for the introduction and facilitation of Kaizen and Lean Methods at both, Rancho Cordova, CA and La Porte, TX, facilities.

"Frank knows our operations comprehensively and has a very strong background in cGMP manufacturing of intermediates and APIs. Frank's leadership and experience have prepared him to implement continuous improvement and lean methods in our facilities," said Aslam Malik, CEO of AMPAC Fine Chemicals. 

Frank received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California Davis, and will be completing his MBA through Chapman University. Frank is also a US Army Veteran having served in combat zones with the 10th Mountain Division.
