Famar has announced the planned acquisition of the Pointe-Claire, Quebec, a manufacturing site from the Consumer Health Division of Bayer.
Famar is a Contract Manufacturing Organization to the Pharmaceutical and Health and Beauty markets, in the top 5 in this sector. Presently, it has an existing network of 11 sites in Europe, which supply a wide range of products to the industry, serving most international markets, with a broad customer base.
This acquisition is an important step in the strategic growth plan of the company. It is the first site which Famar will have in the North American region, and with this FDA approval status, Pointe-Claire serves markets in both the U.S.A. and Canada.
Famar expect to close the transaction in early 2017, at which time Famar is expected to have two FDA approved sites in their global network, the other one being in Europe. The company is ambitious, and plans for further growth both in the North American region and in its traditional markets.
