Phenomenex has introduced SecurityCAP; a mobile phase and solvent waste safety system for HPLC and UHPLC Systems. SecurityCAP products are specially designed for solvent bottles and waste containers, providing increased laboratory safety, chromatographic security and cost savings. SecurityCAP prevents dangerous vapors and gases from leaving the solvent reservoirs and waste containers used with HPLC/UHPLC instruments. Over time, these solvent vapors from commonly used chemicals can have a negative impact on the health of employees and visitors in the laboratory.
SecurityCAP also protects HPLC/UHPLC instruments and chromatographic results by preventing airborne particulates and contaminants from entering the solvent bottles. These contaminants can affect the reproducibility of chromatographic results and cause bacterial growth and ghost peaks. In addition, SecurityCAP helps control solvent costs by preventing evaporation that is common with open or insufficiently sealed bottles.
