Covance’s CEO Paul Kirchgraber, M.D. has released the following letter regarding the company’s name change:
Dear Valued Covance Customer,
As we entered 2021, we announced plans to change our name from Covance to Labcorp Drug Development—showcasing our unique combination of drug development and diagnostic capabilities through one powerful, unified brand. I am excited to share with you that at the end of June 2021, Covance will be known globally as Labcorp Drug Development. Covance has been a part of Labcorp since 2014, and this update will not affect our business relationship or the way we serve you.
The change applies to all of our Drug Development service lines including Central Laboratory Services, Clinical Development & Commercialization Services, and Early Development.
As we transition, your studies will be delivered by the same talented, committed teams, on the same innovative scientific instruments, with a shared commitment to delivering drugs/devices to market sooner. There will be no immediate change to current customer contracts related to the name change, but future amendments will reflect the Labcorp Drug Development company names. Over time, you will notice more connectivity between our drug development and diagnostic capabilities—in oncology, biomarkers and companion diagnostics, data analytics, commercialization services and more.
During the next several weeks, we will be notifying regulatory, government, licensing, and permitting bodies of our transition to the Labcorp name, as well as investigator sites and suppliers.
