Rentschler Biopharma SE, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in biopharmaceuticals, has announced the promotion of Dr. Björn Beckmann to the position of Head of Quality Control at the Company's Laupheim site in Germany, effective from October 1, 2023. In his new role, Dr. Beckmann is entrusted with overseeing all facets of quality control (QC), encompassing the development, production, release, and approval of active pharmaceutical ingredients and therapeutics. He is tasked with ensuring compliance with all quality standards and regulations. Additionally, he leads the teams responsible for formulating quality management strategies and conducting quality control audits, both for authorities and clients. Dr. Beckmann reports directly to the Site Head in Laupheim.
Dr. Beckmann has been an integral part of Rentschler Biopharma for seven years and has consistently demonstrated excellence, leading to progressive promotions. His most recent role was Senior Director of Production Support, where he managed a diverse team of around 150 employees across various departments. These included buffer and media production, manufacturing compliance, DSP major equipment/process preparation, cleanroom maintenance, and small equipment preparation. Dr. Beckmann played a pivotal role in enhancing and streamlining all production support functions. He also sat as a member of the Site Leadership Team, representing production interests. Dr. Beckmann holds a PhD in technical chemistry from Leibniz Universität Hannover and an MS in pharmaceutical biotechnology from the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg.
