Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS), a key player in Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) services under Piramal Pharma Ltd., has inaugurated its advanced antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) manufacturing facility in Grangemouth, Scotland, UK.
Distinguished guests, including Adrian Gillespie, Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise, joined the ceremony and ribbon-cutting event to mark the formal commencement of the facility. Piramal's representatives at the event included Nandini Piramal, Chairperson of Piramal Pharma Limited; Peter DeYoung, CEO of Piramal Pharma Solutions; Herve Berdou, COO of Piramal Pharma Solutions; Chris Leahy, SVP Finance of Piramal Pharma Solutions; and Francois Houbart, Managing Director and Grangemouth Site Head of Piramal Pharma Solutions.
As a global leader in ADC development and manufacturing, Piramal Pharma Solutions boasts a track record of hundreds of developed payloads and over a thousand manufactured ADC batches. This expansion increases the site's capacity by approximately seventy to eighty percent, facilitating the scaling up of commercial ADC manufacturing batches. The expansion, completed for commercialization within this fiscal year, introduces two new ADC manufacturing suites, designed to complement the existing three. The £45 million investment was made possible through a combination of a Scottish Enterprise government grant, a bank loan, customer co-investment, and internal accruals.
The primary beneficiaries of this expansion are Piramal's customers and the patients they serve. The enhanced capacity of the site enables the full life cycle of ADC development and manufacturing, including ADCelerate™—Piramal's branded solution for the rapid early-stage development of ADC drugs. This integrated offering seamlessly combines monoclonal antibody development with manufacturing capabilities.
