Piramal Pharma Releases FY2025 Sustainability Report, Details Decarbonization Progress and Social Initiatives

Piramal Pharma Limited (PPL) published its fourth annual Sustainability Report for FY2025, documenting performance and progress under the theme “Innovating Responsibly. Growing Sustainably.” The report, externally assured by DNV, outlines advances in four key areas: Business Resilience, Quality & Excellence, Responsible Operations, and Stakeholder Centricity. During the year, PPL achieved a 6% year-on-year reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions and increased renewable energy use by 7.8%, with bioenergy accounting for over 20% of total energy consumed. The company reached a milestone at its Digwal facility by converting a coal-fired boiler to run on biomass briquettes.

Governance improvements included 50% independent board members and 30% women representation. Operational highlights encompassed 36 successful regulatory inspections, including two by USFDA, and 165 customer audits worldwide. Diversity and inclusion saw 20% women in the global workforce—a 2.7% annual increase—with 63.3% of campus hires being women. The company reported a 45% improvement in its Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR), and expanded its corporate social responsibility initiatives, investing ₹5.34 crore in education, public health, and women’s empowerment across 112 Indian districts. The report adheres to GRI, SASSB, and UNGC standards.
