SK pharmteco to Expand California Facility With $6.1M Investment for Peptide Scale-Up

SK pharmteco has announced a $6.1M investment in its Rancho Cordova, California site to expand and equip a new laboratory and CGMP facility dedicated to kilogram-scale solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and purification operations. According to the company, this strategic move aims to address the growing demand for advanced peptide development and domestic clinical and commercial-scale manufacturing within the United States.

The expansion will significantly enhance SK pharmteco’s capacity to provide specialized peptide services, leveraging its recognized expertise in chromatographic techniques and its established developmental and manufacturing capabilities in the region. By investing in both advanced SPPS infrastructure and purification technologies, the company intends to streamline the scale-up process for peptide therapeutics, supporting clients from early development through to large-scale production.

This development comes amid increasing market interest in domestic peptide manufacturing, driven by a surge in research and therapeutic applications. SK pharmteco’s bolstered U.S. footprint is expected to facilitate faster project timelines for its biotech and pharmaceutical partners while reinforcing supply chain resilience for American clients. With the expanded Rancho Cordova operations, SK pharmteco positions itself to meet the needs of a growing customer base seeking reliable peptide scale-up and CGMP production services onshore.
