Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services has appointed Joanne Anderson as chief commercial officer, strengthening the leadership team at the Stirling, UK–based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
Anderson brings more than 25 years of international pharmaceutical industry experience to the role, most recently serving as global key account director at Recipharm and previously holding positions at other global CDMOs. The appointment also marks a return to Symbiosis after six years away, with Anderson now tasked with leading the company’s global commercial team.
Symbiosis said the move comes during a period of sustained momentum following significant investment in manufacturing capacity and the successful qualification of a new commercial production facility. The company stated it is positioned to meet rising global demand for specialised GMP sterile fill-finish services.
Chief executive officer Colin MacKay said Anderson’s understanding of client needs, Symbiosis’ technical capabilities and its quality focus, together with her global industry network, make her well-suited to drive commercial growth.
