Simtra BioPharma Taps SCW.AI for Digital Factory Initiative

Simtra BioPharma Solutions has entered into a co-innovation partnership with SCW.AI to implement a digital factory platform across its sterile injectable manufacturing network. The initial deployment is underway at Simtra’s Bloomington, Indiana, site, with plans to extend the technology to its facility in Halle, Germany. The collaboration focuses on SCW.AI’s Digital Factory Platform along with its monitoring and compliance modules to support manufacturing performance and data management.

The monitoring module is designed to provide greater visibility into line and labor performance, including real-time overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), downtime, workforce tracking, and work order performance reporting. It also supports root-cause analysis and work order management for operators and supervisors. In parallel, Simtra is adopting SCW.AI’s compliance solutions to digitize logbooks, aiming to reduce manual data entry, support adherence to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP requirements, and streamline investigations and audits.

According to the companies, the Bloomington implementation forms the basis for a broader roadmap that includes a transition to a paperless factory environment and harmonized KPI tracking across sites. Standardizing digital tools is intended to enable site-to-site comparison and faster scaling of best practices. Future phases are expected to incorporate advanced automation and artificial intelligence via SCW.AI’s AI Hub to inform operational decision-making.
