Pinnaql Buys Pharma Resource Group to Broaden End-to-End Technical Services for Life Sciences Clients

Pinnaql, Inc. has acquired Pharma Resource Group, Inc. (PRG), a specialized consulting firm with nearly 20 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the U.S. and internationally. The transaction expands Pinnaql’s capabilities in formulation development, technology transfer, scale-up and analytical sciences, giving life sciences clients a single partner to help navigate an increasingly complex scientific and regulatory environment. The deal follows Pinnaql’s earlier integration of Validation & Engineering Group (VEG) and the continued build-out of its national platform across major life sciences hubs.

“The best outcomes don't start at the regulatory filing; they begin in the lab, carry through tech transfer, and are validated on the manufacturing floor,” said John Duffin, chief executive officer of Pinnaql. He said PRG “closes the loop” by connecting scientific development expertise with Pinnaql’s engineering, quality and compliance services, enabling the company to support clients from early formulation decisions through inspection-ready commercial manufacturing.

For pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech innovators and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) running complex programs, the combined platform is intended to reduce the need to coordinate multiple specialty vendors. Pinnaql said it can now support critical transitions across development, scale-up, manufacturing, validation, quality systems and inspection readiness with a single coordinated team.

Pinnaql organizes its offerings around four core service areas: Quality Systems & Operations, Laboratory Lifecycle, Manufacturing Technical Operations, and Automation / Digital Transformation. The addition of PRG expands this platform in two main ways. First, PRG’s formulation scientists, analytical experts and scientific writers add targeted support for moving drug products from lab development into scalable, regulatory-ready manufacturing processes, filling a tech transfer and scale-up gap that previously required separate providers. Second, PRG’s manufacturing and science-based change control capabilities strengthen Pinnaql’s work in complex, regulated production environments, from handling technical process deviations and post-approval changes to preparing for commercial launch.

“For nearly twenty years, PRG has earned the trust of clients by delivering practical, high-quality work in some of the most demanding environments in the industry,” said John P. Raech, co-founder and president of PRG. He said joining Pinnaql will give PRG’s clients access to a broader suite of engineering, validation, quality systems and digital capabilities “without any disruption” to existing relationships and standards, while opening new options for customers managing more complex programs.

Pinnaql noted that the PRG acquisition follows its earlier integration of Validation & Engineering Group, which is now operating under the Pinnaql brand, consolidating engineering and validation expertise. Together, the combined organizations aim to support pharmaceutical, biotechnology and CDMO clients through every phase of product development and commercialization, providing technically rigorous, inspection-ready solutions that align with evolving expectations from global regulators.
