Scinai Biopharma Appoints Site Head of Yavne CDMO Facility

Scinai Biopharma Services has appointed Eilon Elmalem as site head of the company’s Yavne CDMO facility, effective June 14, 2026. The biopharmaceutical company, which is advancing a pipeline of inflammation and immunology therapeutics, said the leadership change is intended to support the continued growth and operational development of its CDMO platform.

Elmalem has worked with Scinai as an external consultant for the past two years, supporting CDMO activities and operational development and contributing to the transition and operational integration planning of the Yavne facility. In his new role, he will assume responsibility for site operations while continuing to oversee engineering activities.

Scinai said Elmalem brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering, operations, process development and industrial infrastructure management in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Before joining Scinai, he held senior leadership posts at Merck and Sigma-Aldrich Millipore, including vice president of engineering and process development, overseeing engineering, manufacturing, R&D and operations across sites in Israel, Europe and the United States. His background includes managing multidisciplinary teams, leading complex organizational transformations, establishing and expanding GMP manufacturing facilities and directing major capital investment programs.

“We are pleased to welcome Eilon into this important leadership role,” said Amir Reichman, chief executive officer of Scinai. He said Elmalem has become an integral part of the growth and operational development of the CDMO platform over the past two years, and cited his international operational experience, engineering expertise and leadership skills as key to supporting continued expansion, operational excellence and long-term growth of the Yavne facility.

The transition and knowledge transfer process began on May 10, 2026, under the supervision of current site head Sylvia Kachalsky, who will remain involved to help ensure continuity of operations and effective handover of responsibilities. After the transition, Kachalsky is expected to begin retirement leave ahead of her planned retirement later in 2026.

Reichman thanked Kachalsky for her leadership of the Yavne site and for her role in the transition and integration process following Scinai’s acquisition of the facility from Recipharm. He said her professionalism, operational expertise and commitment significantly contributed to the successful integration of the Yavne facility into Scinai Biopharma Services’ expanding CDMO platform and to establishing the commercial collaboration framework with Recipharm.
