GXP-Storage is expanding its UK operations with a third restricted-access facility in Raunds, Northamptonshire, adding more than 95,000 cubic feet of GxP-compliant, environmentally controlled storage capacity.
The new Quattro, Raunds site is scheduled to be commissioned and operational in November 2026. It will provide secure storage across temperatures ranging from controlled ambient conditions to cryogenic environments, serving life sciences clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The facility will offer controlled ambient storage at 21°C, refrigerated capacity from 2°C to 8°C, frozen storage at minus 20°C, low-temperature storage from minus 30°C to minus 40°C, ultra-low storage at minus 80°C and cryogenic storage at minus 150°C. The site will include redundant power and continuous environmental monitoring.
GXP-Storage said the expansion gives pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO and healthcare organizations an alternative to constructing and operating their own regulated storage infrastructure. The company said customers can gain additional capacity without the capital cost, downtime, compliance risk or around-the-clock management requirements associated with in-house facilities.
The Raunds operation will run on the company’s validated GXP-Guardian platform, which combines management of physical materials and digital records in a single system. GXP-Storage said the platform provides real-time material visibility, an immutable chain of custody and audit-ready controls.
The site is centrally located near the Oxford, Cambridge and London life sciences corridor and has connections through the A45, A14, M1 and M11. It also has access to the Port of Felixstowe and London Heathrow and Stansted airports, supporting more efficient movement and retrieval of regulated materials.
GXP-Storage said the facility has a BREEAM “Excellent” certification and an EPC “A” rating. It will operate under the same quality management system used by the company’s ISO 9001:2015-certified U.S. operations, with UK certification planned.
