Ecolab Opens Resin Manufacturing Facility in China

Ecolab Life Sciences has opened a resin manufacturing facility in Quzhou, China, expanding the company’s capacity to produce materials used in separation, purification and recovery applications.

The facility made its first customer shipments in July and was formally opened Sept. 15 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Ecolab executives.

The Quzhou site combines resin manufacturing operations with a co-located research, development and engineering center. The center brings together teams from Ecolab’s Deqing and Quzhou facilities.

Ecolab said the plant will manufacture resins used in industrial, environmental and infrastructure applications. The company said the materials are intended to support customer process efficiency and shorten manufacturer lead times.

The investment expands Ecolab’s global resin manufacturing network. The company did not disclose the cost of the investment, the site’s production capacity, the number of employees, the facility’s size or the types of resin it will produce.

Ecolab Life Sciences is a division of Ecolab Inc. The business provides products and services used in life sciences and industrial applications.

The company said demand for advanced purification technologies is increasing as industries seek to improve performance while using less water and fewer natural resources. It said separation, purification and recovery technologies are used in water stewardship, circular-resource management, regulatory compliance and supply-chain activities.

Christophe Beck, Ecolab’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, said the Quzhou investment expands the company’s manufacturing and customer-support capabilities.

Hayley Crowe, executive vice president and general manager of Ecolab’s Global Life Sciences business, said the co-location of manufacturing and research, development and engineering functions will support work on new products and customer applications.

Christina Kong, Ecolab’s Greater China market lead, said the facility will serve customers in China while connecting to Ecolab’s global supply network.
