Alcami has appointed Will Isom as vice president of laboratory services sales, creating a new commercial leadership role within its contract development and manufacturing organization.
Isom will lead Alcami’s commercial strategy for laboratory services, work with biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients, and support the company’s standalone analytical-services offerings, Alcami said Sept. 23.
The role is intended to support Alcami’s biologics portfolio and its laboratory-services operations. Katie Schlipp, president of laboratory services, said Isom will work across the company’s analytical-services and biologics business.
Isom has more than 20 years of experience in biologics development, quality control, commercial strategy and operational leadership, according to Alcami.
Before joining Alcami, he led Texcell’s global commercial organization, where he oversaw commercial strategy for advanced-therapy programs. His prior experience also includes positions at Charles River Laboratories, where he held commercial and business-development roles.
At Charles River, Isom later became site director following the company’s acquisition of Cognate BioServices, Alcami said.
The company said Isom’s appointment is part of an effort to expand client support as biologic therapies become more complex. His responsibilities will include developing commercial relationships with biopharmaceutical companies and advancing Alcami’s laboratory-services sales strategy.
