Sanner has rebranded Gilero as Sanner and expanded its innovation and development facility in Chicago, consolidating its North American operations under a single brand following its 2024 acquisition of Gilero.
The company said the change combines Gilero’s medical-device development and engineering activities with Sanner’s pharmaceutical-packaging and global manufacturing operations. Gilero’s technical capabilities and customer relationships will continue under the Sanner name.
Sanner specializes in healthcare packaging and medical-technology development and manufacturing. The rebranding follows investments in U.S. manufacturing capacity, including a new production facility in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The enlarged Chicago office will serve as an innovation and development location for medical-technology programs. The facility includes a human-factors laboratory with integrated audiovisual recording for usability testing, in-house 3D printing, assembly capabilities and electromechanical prototyping.
The Chicago site also has access to the adjacent mHUB Innovation Center, which provides CT scanning, laser cutting and selective laser sintering 3D-printing capabilities. Sanner said the location is intended to support collaboration with customers and industry partners in the Midwest.
The company said the facility expansion is intended to support product development through prototyping, design work and usability testing. Human-factors testing evaluates how users interact with products and can inform medical-device development.
Stefan Verheyden, Sanner’s chief executive officer, said the unified organization will connect development and production functions across the company’s global network. Ted Mosler, chief technology officer of Sanner Group and president of Sanner America, said the changes provide U.S. customers access to expanded manufacturing and development resources.
The rebranding, Chicago expansion and Greensboro production investment are part of Sanner’s North American growth strategy.
