Symbiosis Adds Three Commercial Staff for International Growth

Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services has appointed three employees to its commercial team as the Scottish contract manufacturer expands its business development efforts in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Southern Europe.

Payal Roychoudhury joins the business development team with responsibility for Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Based in Glasgow, she has more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and advanced therapies, including roles at AstraZeneca, Lonza and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Joaquín Pérez Fornieles will cover Southern Europe and support work in other European and selected markets. Based in Málaga, Spain, he has spent about a decade in the contract development and manufacturing sector. He most recently served as sales manager for commercial products at Carbogen AMCIS.

Annie Shafran joins as inside sales manager, based in Manchester. Previously a key account manager at LGC, she will handle initial customer inquiries and work with business development and technical staff to assess prospective projects.

The appointments follow the arrival of Jay Chima as vice president of business development and Jos Vergeest as senior business development director. Chief Commercial Officer Joanne Anderson said the new hires will support customer relationships in the company’s target markets and its handling of early inquiries.
