Upperton Pharma Solutions has introduced a new brand identity at CPHI Milan, reflecting its expansion into a contract development and manufacturing organization offering services from formulation development through commercial production.
The Nottingham, UK-based company said the rebranding follows investment in infrastructure, scientific expertise and manufacturing capabilities. Those changes include development of its 60,000-square-foot Trent Gateway facility, expansion of its executive leadership team and the addition of sterile manufacturing.
Upperton’s services cover oral, nasal, pulmonary and parenteral drug products. The company combines formulation development, analytical services, clinical manufacturing and commercial-scale production at a single site, supporting both small molecule and biologic products.
Chief Executive Nikki Whitfield said the updated identity reflects changes in the organization and its ability to support increasingly complex drug development programs. She cited work involving small molecules, biologics and advanced formulations as areas requiring coordination across development and manufacturing.
The company’s operating model brings development and production activities together rather than separating them across multiple facilities. Upperton said this approach is intended to retain program knowledge as products move through development milestones.
Its capabilities include oral solid dosage forms, nasal and pulmonary products, and sterile medicines. Upperton also provides formulation development and clinical trial manufacturing for liquids, semi-solids and inhalation products.
The new positioning describes Upperton as a specialist provider serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies throughout the drug development lifecycle. It links the brand change to an expanded range of services, including sterile manufacturing alongside its established oral, nasal and pulmonary expertise, and to investments made in recent years.
