Catalent has signed a commercial supply agreement with consumer health company Mantra to develop, manufacture and package single-serve oral gels for over-the-counter use. The agreement covers products for occasional sleeplessness, pain relief and menstrual relief.
Work will take place at Catalent’s St. Petersburg, Florida, facility. The company will provide formulation development alongside commercial manufacturing and packaging services as Mantra moves its product portfolio toward commercialization.
The products are packaged in portable pouches containing a pre-measured dose that can be taken without water. Mantra positions the oral gel format as an alternative to tablets, capsules and syrups.
According to the companies, the formulations contain no artificial dyes, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Mantra said its products use established active ingredients across the three treatment categories.
Aris Gennadios, Catalent’s group president for pharma and consumer health, said the agreement marks the first over-the-counter unit-dose gel technology manufactured by Catalent.
Mantra Chief Executive and Founder Simon More said the partnership provides development expertise, manufacturing capabilities and production scale for bringing the portfolio to market.
The agreement combines Mantra’s oral gel product format with Catalent’s formulation, manufacturing, quality and packaging operations. Catalent’s role spans product development and commercial supply rather than manufacturing alone.
