Perceptive Discovery and Nucleus RadioPharma have formed a nonexclusive partnership linking preclinical testing with clinical manufacturing for radiopharmaceutical developers.
Under the agreement, the companies will refer qualified customer opportunities to one another and coordinate their work through a joint governance structure. Both will continue operating independently, and customers will retain their choice of service providers.
Perceptive Discovery will contribute radiochemistry, preclinical models, molecular imaging, biodistribution and dosimetry services. These activities generate evidence to support drug candidate selection and planning for initial human studies.
Nucleus will provide radiolabeling and process development under Good Manufacturing Practice standards, along with clinical and commercial manufacturing, isotope supply chain services, and regulatory and quality support.
The companies said the arrangement is intended to address delays, costs and coordination problems that can arise when programs move from preclinical imaging into manufacturing.
For Perceptive, the agreement establishes a pathway from its imaging services to clinical-scale production. Biodistribution and dosimetry data help developers assess where radiopharmaceutical candidates travel in the body and inform the design of first-in-human studies, according to the announcement.
Nucleus Chief Executive Stephen Hahn said the collaboration would allow developers to consider manufacturing requirements and production scale earlier in development.
Perceptive Chief Executive Benjamin Murphy said coordination could help sponsors identify scientific and manufacturing challenges before programs enter clinical development.
The companies plan to review the partnership’s performance and consider expanding its scope based on customer needs. The announcement did not disclose financial terms, identify participating customer programs or provide quantified targets for reducing development timelines or costs.
