Engineer III Product & Process Development
Serán Bioscience
Nick Montalbano is a drug product and process engineer at Serán Bioscience, where he applies his background as a chemical engineer to the development of robust oral solid dosage forms for small-molecule therapeutics. His experience spans formulation for amorphous solid dispersions and crystalline systems, drug product process definition and scale-up, multiparticulate design, and the translation of formulation science into manufacturable processes. He has supported programs from early development through clinical manufacture, with a focus on building scientifically sound and operationally efficient drug product strategies. He is particularly passionate about driving synergy between formulation and process design, tablet compaction theory, material properties, and thoughtful, risk-based technology transfer grounded in simplicity, logic, and scientific rigor. Nick joined Serán in 2021 and holds a BS in chemical engineering from Oregon State University.
