Catalent Completes Expansion of Singapore Clinical Supply Facility for Increased Temperature-Controlled Capabilities

Catalent has completed an expansion project for its clinical supply facility in Singapore at a cost of $2.2 million. The expansion has increased the site's area to 31,000 square feet, and the additional space has been used to install 35 new ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers. The investment led to the addition of specialized secondary packaging capabilities for ULT products and increased the facility's capacity to handle advanced modalities, including biopharmaceuticals, mRNA-based vaccines, and cell and gene therapies.

The Singapore site was Catalent's first clinical supply facility in the Asia-Pacific region, and it now serves as a key supply hub that ships clinical materials with high reliability and speed to more than 20 countries. According to Tracey Clare, General Manager of APAC Operations for Catalent, this year marks the site's 25th anniversary, and with the expansions and investments made over the years, it is now well-positioned to meet the needs of modern Asia-Pacific and global clinical trials.

In addition to sites in China and Japan, Catalent's Singapore site provides a comprehensive range of clinical supply services, including clinical supply management, comparator sourcing, FastChain® demand-led supply solution, secondary packaging, storage, global distribution, clinical returns, and destruction, to the Asia-Pacific region.
